HUGE thank you to SGC's new favorite Giant: @shaun.anderson_ ! And thank you to all that were a part of this awesome experience. We will definitely be looking forward to Gator outings to Oracle Park as soon as we can. • Below are a few highlights from the call. Tell us your favorite part of the call in the comments! • • Last Friday the 16th, SGC had the honor of hosting a Zoom meeting with Giants pitcher and UF alum Shaun Anderson. We began by discussing Anderson's hometown, Coral Springs, and his training there during off-season. Anderson said his decision to attend UF was easy. "When I got to the weight room at UF and saw that every barbell had little Gator heads on them, I thought 'Yeah, this is the right place for me." After playing for the UF team from 2013-16, a team that now has 11 major leaguers, Anderson was drafted by the Red Sox and dealt to the Giants in the trade for third-baseman Eduardo Nunez. "The Giants are a first-class organization...The coaches are incredible." Anderson also discussed some friendly rivalries with other UF alumni that went pro such as Pete Alonso of the Mets and AJ Puck of the A's. And when asked if he's had to hit against anyone that made him just shake his head, he replied without hesitation: "Kershaw." Anderson said he looks forward to meeting us all when we're allowed back in the ballpark to cheer him on this upcoming season! • • PC: @robbiearonson
